Grief MemeGrief. It’s one of the most difficult of detours. When we lose a spouse, a parent, a child, we long for their return.

We may suffer other losses, too. From personal health, to wealth, or prestige. Perhaps we just wish we could go back to ‘better’ times.

Unfortunately, life is replete with loss. I’ve had my own experiences with it over the past few years. But I’ve also learned that a negative emotion can be turned on its ear. To do that, we must gather our gratitude and remember exactly what and why we’re grieving.

If we can do that, we can hopefully accept that grief too has its place in our lives. For without it we might not be truly thankful for what we once had.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” ~ Matthew 5:4 NIV
