Be still and know that I am God. ~ Psalm 46:10
COVID-19 is continuing to run rampant through our lives. But, as much as it does so, our God, the Lord of Peace, shines down on us with reminders of His peace and love. He brings them to us every day.
A friend recently told me that God had reminded her not to waste this unique time He has given us. Instead, she said, we should use it to grow in our knowledge of Him. And we do that through the Word of God.
That started me thinking. Do I truly know God and His Word? Have I used the last few months for Bible study, prayer and praise? For learning Scripture? And for faithfully resting in the assurance that God will help us through each day?
He loves and cares for His children, and He wants us to run to Him with every fear, with every need. He is our shelter. Our refuge. Our rock. He is trustworthy, merciful. He is our counselor, comforter and creator. And, He is our Savior, Jesus Christ.
There is only one way we can stand strong, not crippled with anxiety, and that is to know His Holy Power and His Scriptures. God’s eternal, powerful Word will carry us through, no matter what comes.
May we truly know Him and live to sing His glory through it all. Amen.
