It seems to me that this generation is “in the fire.” With so much to face, it’s almost impossible to deal with it all. Although we know that God ultimately holds everything in His hands—and we pray for Him to guide and protect us—it’s sometimes difficult to leave it with Him.
A friend asked me the other day what Bible verses have helped me most during this time. Here is my list!
Psalm 56:3 — When I am afraid, I will trust in You. NIV
Note the word “when.” Not “if” we are afraid. But when. And when that time comes, trusting in Jesus is what will truly get us through.
Hebrews 13:5-6 — …. God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? NLT
God will never fail you.
Philippians 4:6-7 — Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus …. NIV
Peace will come when you tell Jesus what you need and thank Him for all He has done.
Psalm 55:22 — Give your burdens to the Lord and He will take care of you. NLT
God is aware of your burdens and will take care of you.
Jeremiah 29:11 — For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. NLT
What God is doing for us now is giving us a future and a hope.
Joshua 1:9 — This is my command — be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” NLT
The Lord is with us no matter where we go, so don’t be afraid or discouraged.
John 14:1 — Don’t let your heart be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me. NLT
TRUST IN GOD!
John 16:33 — I have told you this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world. NLT
Jesus encouraged us by reminding us we can overcome the world too.
Romans 8:38-39 — And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below — indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. …..
Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love! And that is the key. Jesus is the key. Turn all your concerns over to Him—and rest in Him—with joyous praise forever.
So, that was my list. Now I’d like to hear from you! What are some of your go-to verses right now?
