If ever there were a time when we needed God to answer us, it is now. The nations of the world seem to be bent in their ways. The Bible describes them as drops in the bucket.

As unsettled as we are about what lies ahead, we have no fear because nothing can thwart the purpose of God. We are told, just as the nations of the world are, to look up. To look up to see the glorious display in the clouds that await us. And listen for the voice of our Lord as He answers us.

Trust Me! I will make it right! I will make a way through the obstacles. No matter how large they are, I will overcome them.

These are some of the most powerful, comforting Words God gives to us. God will overcome, because He will not fail His people.

When our lives seem to be falling apart, He opens His arms so that we can turn to Him and see His loving arms wide open. We may not escape our adversary, but those who love the Lord can be assured that we will be with God — no matter what happens — to the end.

Isaiah 40 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. God comforts us with the promises that we will live with Him forever. We will see what an amazing Creator we have. Even now, He sits enthroned above the circle of the world. He tends us like a shepherd tends His flock. He knows the stars by name — each one! He is the everlasting God and the Creator of the ends of the earth.

Verse 31 is “my” verse in Chapter 40, and I admit that I have turned to it multiple times in the past, just as I am turning to it today. I pray that the Voice of Comfort brings peace and strength to you as we serve our God Who never falls.

… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ~ Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
